Domain
I've been blogging consistently – if you count a good number of absences as “consistent” – since 2003, where I started off on GeoCities with a site name Suga Suga, which was the start of several song-themed website titles (for the record, while I'm not a fan of “Suga Suga”'s title, I have no regrets /end Sorority Boys reference). I went on to host several personal sites, the most notable ones being hidden-beneath.org (a start to a number of bad hosts), Smooth (a small blog site hosted by the best private host I've ever had), killwrongs.org and my latest domain before Lyone, mu-equita.net.
Lyone was created in 2007 as a subdomain on a domain not owned by myself, before venturing off in early 2008 to become a domain. It was registered at GoDaddy » and is hosted at DreamHost », both of which I highly recommend. Lyone is run on my own CMS script, which powers four other sites, including my collective, Pumpin'! », which also happens to be the host of Lyone.
Name
The name – Lyone – was derived from both lion (the African/Asian wildcat) and León (both the city and a given male name), except as I love fucking up words purposely, with a “y” in place of the i/e, and an e added to the end. I tend to pronounce Lyone as lay-on, much like the city in both Mexico and Spain; I also fancy myself saying a flat “lee-on”. …I clearly think too much.
